Thanksgiving
For twenty five years, Calvary Chapel Ojai Valley has been coordinating Thanksgiving in the Park and Christmas in the Park: two of the most amazing holiday experiences for the community. It started in 1999 as an outreach to the homeless and has grown into so much more including members of our community from all different backgrounds sharing the special days together.
Young and old, rich or poor, whether one is homeless, living alone, or just connecting with the reason for the season, they can share a delicious meal, make new friends, and have their hearts filled with the joy of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Each event includes a fantastic feast, beautiful live music, a holiday message, and, most importantly, an atmosphere of love that is essential to building the soul and reminding people that they are valued. For some, this has now become a family tradition, even bringing out of town visitors to experience this unique and meaningful celebration.
While these are free events to all who participate, it is only possible due to the time, energies, and generosities of many community partners. People like you make this happen each year. Can you help this year?
Following is the button for Christmas in the Park that will take you to the page where you can signup to bring part of the meal and to volunteer if you are able. If you are unable to provide part of the meal you can donate financially and one of the volunteers will do the shopping for whatever is needed. At the bottom of this page is a button you can select that will take you to the donation page.
Thank you for being an important part of this wonderful community.
Sincerely, Dan Nelson, pastor
