Join us Saturday, May 13th for a live performance & broadcast with Julie Christensen! Julie is well-known for her work with such luminaries as Leonard Cohen, Divine Horsemen, Van Dyke Parks and many others—not to mention her formidable solo life, with many albums and legacies to boot. And to boast of. She is also a Household Ink Records family member, having consented to be part of the Headless Household adventure for years (and appearing on a few albums), and releasing her wonderful albums Where the Fireworks Are and Something Familiar on the Household Ink label.

Most importantly, her fabulous new album, The Price we Pay for Love, was recently released, and her Ojai show will tap that prized new addition to the discography, along with songs from assorted byways in her storied musical life (maybe even a Household ditty in the mix).

To quote Julie: Join us Saturday, May 13th for a live performance & broadcast with Julie Christensen. Julie returns to Ojai Arts Underground Exchange to celebrate the April release of Julie’s new album, The Price We Pay for Love with Santa Barbara’s Joe Woodard on guitars and L.A.’s Steve Nelson on bass. Both musicians played on Julie’s 2008 album Where the Fireworks Are, and Julie has played with Joe as part of Headless Household. Joe accompanied Julie and a “cast of thousands,” including Rain Perry, at Julie’s February 2020 “Retrofestive” at McCabe’s in Santa Monica. It was to the last live show for quite awhile, since a global pandemic was declared roughly two weeks later. Please join us to hear some Favorites from Julie’s catalogue and tunes from Julie’s new album of ballads, The Price we Pay for Love, released on April 14, 2023. The show begins at 7pm and live audience tickets are $35. Broadcast tickets are “pay what you can” $10-$15. No refunds
