Ojai Women’s Fund’s opens its Grants Application Training Workshop to be held April 18
Open to nonprofits serving the Ojai Valley—not restricted to Ojai-based organizations.
(Ojai, CA) The Ojai Women’s Fund’s impressive Grants Application Training Workshop will be held again on Zoom on April 18 at 6 pm. The workshop is an interactive training session focusing on completing the OWF grant application step by step. It will be very beneficial for smaller nonprofits that do not have a formal grant writer. The workshop and grant program is open to any nonprofit delivering services to the Ojai Valley, not just Ojai-based.
“The goal of the workshop is to introduce and explain the grant application process and form,” said Catherine Meek, Co-Chair of the Grants Committee. “Regardless of the organization’s size, everyone may have an equal chance by watching the training. We encourage all applicants to attend this training as we will cover new items and focus on completing an effective grant.”
There are two primary requirements to apply. First, the organization is either a 501(c)(3) or has a fiscal sponsor, not a church. The second is that the grant will benefit and service the Ojai Valley. The group does not have to reside in Ojai, but the grant monies will be spent on projects or programs in the valley.
Grants Co-Chairs Catherine Meek (above left) and Polly Nelson (right) will facilitate the meeting and be joined by other members of the Steering Committee as the training facilitators.
The fund started in 2016 with a small group of women deciding to combine their donations and help sustain the many good works done by local nonprofits. Ojai Women’s Fund has given grants totaling over $600,000 since its inception in 2016.
A qualifying nonprofit is encouraged to attend the program. Anyone who supports a nonprofit is asked to inform them about this program. It’s free and well worth the time, especially for small staff with limited resources but doing great work. They can sign up by RSVP to: OjaiWomensFund2.org/grants-
A Zoom link will be sent 24 hours before the workshop.
