A Diverse Collection

Human Arts Gallery, located in the middle of Ojai’s historical Arcade, opened in 1975. Upon walking in the door, the first thing you notice is the mix of colors, textures, and the unique array of handmade art and crafts. Hallie and Stan personally select the work of over 125 amazing American artists to create a visual treasure trove of art, jewelry, furniture, sculpture, wood, ceramics, glass and textiles - from fun and funky to serious and elegant.

Since the original gallery began in a smaller space 8 doors west, and expanded in the mid-nineties to where it is now across from Libbey Park, it has become a destination stop for many fans the moment they arrive in town. Loyal clients drop in regularly to purchase unique items for their personal collections or for gifts, and first time visitors delight in the experience.

Hallie, Stan and their friendly staff are happy to gift wrap or ship purchases, share information about artists, or direct you to local hiking trails or favorite restaurants.

Folk Art Furniture

HumanArts has represented David Marsh, a Texas based furniture maker, since 1995, and is now the only shop in Calfornia to do so. David’s handmade pine furniture is embellished with colorful painted folk art patterns. It’s fun and functional, and his cabinets, shelving, mirrors, lamps and tables of all sizes continue to be very collectible.

Jewelry as Art

The gallery has always been known for a great selection of interesting jewelry. Whether artful, classic, rustic or sophisticated, you’ll see a wonderful variety of earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings in sterling silver, gold or non-precious materials, in all price ranges.

Ask to see the photo books of custom work and unique wedding rings made by resident jeweler, Hallie Katz. Make an appointment to discuss how you can turn in your old gold jewelry for credit and use your own gems to create a one-of-a-kind piece that you can really enjoy!

One of a kind art for gifts, and for collectors.
