Kit Stolz worked as a reporter in New York City after graduating from Columbia University and then went to Hollywood and worked with screenplays for Paramount Pictures and other studios and producers for 25 years.

After moving to Ventura County, he returned to journalism, reporting and writing for publications locally (such as the Ojai Quarterly, the Ventura County Star, the Ventura County Reporter, the Los Angeles Times, and the Santa Barbara Independent); on-line publications (such as Atlas Obscura, the California Health Report, and Grist),  magazines, including High Country News and Sierra, and journals, including The Georgia Review and LongReads.

He won a Best Investigative Reporting award in 2017 from the California Newspaper Publishers Association, among other honors, and continues to blog, mostly on culture and climate, at www.achangeinthewind.com.
